Disney has announced a series of attraction reopenings and new experiences scheduled to debut at parks across Walt Disney World in the months ahead.
Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin
At Magic Kingdom, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin is scheduled to reopen on April 8, 2026 following a refurbishment. The attraction will introduce several updates, including a new scene featuring Buddy, a new support bot at Star Command, and enhanced Star Cruiser ride vehicles equipped with new handheld blasters. Interactive targets throughout the ride will now react and illuminate when hit. In addition, the on-ride Disney PhotoPass photo will display each rider’s score and rank.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Also at Magic Kingdom, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is set to reopen in early May 2026 after a refurbishment lasting more than a year. The project included a complete track replacement and the addition of a newly designed opening scene featuring phosphorescent pools, shimmering and illuminating iridescent stalagmites, and stalactites, along with other “new magic.” An exact reopening date has not been announced.
Soarin’ Across America
At EPCOT, Soarin’ Across America will debut beginning May 26 in celebration of the United States’ 250th anniversary. The updated version of the attraction will feature a new flight experience highlighting locations across the country, including the Grand Canyon and iconic cityscapes. The experience will also include a newly orchestrated version of the original Soarin’ musical theme.
The Walt Disney Studios
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “The Walt Disney Studios” courtyard will open to guests on May 26, replacing the former Animation Courtyard area. Later in the summer, The Magic of Disney Animation will open in the space previously occupied by the closed Star Wars Launch Bay.
The Magic of Disney Animation will feature multiple experiences, including a “Drawn to Wonderland” playground, character interactions in “Off the Page!”, and “Olaf Draws,” where guests will learn to draw alongside Disney Animation artists through pre-recorded instruction, guided by the character Olaf.
Also debuting at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on May 26 is Disney Jr. Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Live!, inspired by the Disney Jr. series Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+.
The Mandalorian and Grogu on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
Announced earlier this week, a new mission featuring Din Djarin and Grogu will debut on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at Disney’s Hollywood Studios beginning May 22, timed with the release of the upcoming film.
In the updated storyline, guests will join Din Djarin, aka The Mandalorian, and Grogu on a mission to track down former Imperial officers across the galaxy while piloting the Millennium Falcon. Guests will take part in a high-speed pursuit and will be able to determine which planets their ship visits during the mission.
The update will also introduce a new gameplay feature that allows the attraction’s engineers to communicate directly with Grogu during the mission.
Bluey’s Wild World
At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, Bluey’s Wild World will open at Conservation Station on May 26. The new experience will include interactive games based on episodes of the television series Bluey, character photo opportunities with Bluey and Bingo, and an area called “Jumping Junction,” where guests can learn about animals native to Australia, the characters’ home country.
