Netflix is preparing to launch a redesigned version of its mobile app at the end of April 2026, introducing a vertical video feed as part of a broader push to reshape how users discover and engage with content on mobile devices.
In its Q1 2026 earnings letter to shareholders on Thursday, the company said the update is intended to reflect its expanding entertainment offerings and shifting viewing habits. “This redesign will better reflect our expanding entertainment offering and make it easier for members to engage how and when they want,” the company said.
Netflix noted that the distinction between “entertainment on TV and mobile devices are blurring,” pointing to the growing influence of mobile-first formats. The company highlighted video podcasts as a category that over-indexes on mobile usage, reinforcing its decision to rethink how content is presented on smaller screens.
Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters said in January that the company was planning a mobile interface overhaul aimed at “better [serving] the expansion of our business over the decade to come.”
