Universal Orlando has officially revealed the permanent closing date for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and it’s earlier than previously announced. Initially, Universal stated that the attraction would shut down in early September 2025, but did not provide an exact date. Recent updates from the Universal Orlando website now confirm that the ride will permanently close on August 18, 2025. Typically, when theme parks announce a closure, the day preceding the closure is the final day of operation. Therefore, according to this practice, August 17, 2025, should be the last opportunity to experience this ride.

Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit opened at the Universal Studios Florida park on August 19, 2009, so it’ll permanently close just a few days shy of turning 16 years old. The coaster features a 17-story vertical lift and the world’s first non-inverting loop. Riders can experience speeds of up to 65 mph while choosing their own song to enjoy during the ride.
