Disney has emerged as the first studio in 2026 to surpass $3 billion at the global box office, driven by a strong mix of new releases and continuing momentum from late-2025 hits.

A major boost came from Pixar’s latest release, Toy Story 5, which delivered the animation studio’s second-largest global opening in history with $312 million worldwide.

The milestone was also supported by a wide range of titles across Disney’s major banners. 20th Century Studios contributed significantly with The Devil Wears Prada 2, which has earned $677 million globally. Meanwhile, Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu added over $323 million worldwide, and Pixar’s Hoppers brought in $372 million. Additional support came from 20th Century Studios’ Send Help, which has reached $94 million.

Disney’s total was further strengthened by ongoing box office carryover from 2025 releases, including Avatar: Fire and Ash and Zootopia 2, both of which continued to generate revenue well into the new year.

Disney’s 2026 box office results continue a long-running streak of industry leadership, with the company finishing as the highest-grossing studio globally in nine of the last ten years.
