Universal Studios Hollywood has announced a collaboration with Grammy Award-winning guitarist and songwriter SLASH to develop a series of original experiences for this year’s Halloween Horror Nights.
Among these offerings is an original soundtrack for the haunted house, “Scarecrow: Music by SLASH.” This marks the seventh consecutive year that the musician has created a score for a haunted house at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights.
“Scarecrow: Music by SLASH” emphasizes themes of retribution, depicting Mother Nature seeking vengeance against homesteaders for their past sins. This revenge is executed by scarecrows, silent witnesses who take on the role of destroyers towards anyone who crosses their path.
According to a Universal Studios Hollywood press release, SLASH’s original score for the experience is composed “similarly to a motion picture by engaging with each scene,” which “will deliver an unnerving sense of fear as guests navigate the ominous corridors of the haunted house.”
The event will also feature the vinyl-only album release of “SLASH: Music of Universal Studios Hollywood – Halloween Horror Nights, Volume 2,” which complements last year’s sold-out album. This new album showcases an array of original music created by SLASH over the past six years for different haunted houses at Universal Studios Hollywood. It will also include a tribute from John Murdy, Creative Director and Executive Producer of Halloween Horror Nights.

This year, SLASH will have a presence at Halloween Horror Nights in Hollywood that goes beyond just a haunted house, including a bar themed around SLASH located at Jurassic Cove, just above Jurassic World – The Ride. This venue will offer a selection of cocktails influenced by the artist’s music, featuring drinks like “The Danse of the Dead” and “Beautiful Dangerous,” alongside a non-alcoholic option called “SLASH’s Snakepit.” The food menu will highlight some of SLASH’s favorite dishes, such as Chicken Satay Tacos, Thai Beef Tacos, and Thai Curry Tacos. A SLASH Hat cake, reminiscent of his signature top hat, will also be available.
Guests venturing to the SLASH Bar will encounter a ghoulish stilt walking SLASH scare-actor, adorned with his trademark black curly locks and top hat.
