The Beach Boys have been removed from this year’s EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival Eat to the Beat Concert Series. John Stamos and the California Sound will take over their previously scheduled performances on November 11 and 12. Stamos has frequently toured with The Beach Boys and has also performed alongside the band at Walt Disney World in the past.
Neither Disney nor The Beach Boys has publicly explained the lineup change. However, it comes as lead singer Mike Love faces health challenges, which Stamos addressed earlier this month, saying Love was “facing serious health challenges.”
The Beach Boys canceled or postponed their summer tour dates, sharing vague statements about Love’s health. The band was expected to return to the stage in September, but those performances were also canceled. The band eventually performed a few weeks ago, marking its first public show since July, but Stamos was seen helping a frail Love onto the stage, where the singer remained seated in a chair throughout the show.
Here’s the updated schedule for the remaining Eat to the Beat Concert Series performances:
- October 28-29: Bowling For Soup
- October 30-31: Southbound
- November 1: Southbound
- November 2-3: Boyz II Men
- November 4-5: Big Head Todd and The Monsters
- November 6-8: M-80’s
- November 9-10: Grace Potter
- November 11-12: John Stamos and the California Sound
- November 13-16: The Hooligans
Concerts are held at the America Gardens Theatre, with three performances scheduled daily at 5:30 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8 p.m. All shows are included with regular EPCOT admission.
