Demolition of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is nearly complete, marking the end of an era at Universal Studios Florida. The ride permanently closed on August 18, 2025, and crews have been working quickly to dismantle the roller coaster. The ride that once dominated the Universal Orlando skyline is now nearly gone as Universal clears the way for a new, yet-to-be-announced attraction. Here’s a look at the current state of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit as of October 12, 2025.
Ride Station Demolished
Demolition was recently completed on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit’s ride station, leaving only the elevator shaft behind. In our last photo update on October 4, 2025, the roof and its supporting columns were still intact.

With the former ride station gone, you can get clearer views into Universal Studios Florida from CityWalk.

It’s also now possible to see the Hogwarts Express from CityWalk as it travels backstage between Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure.

Plus, parts of CityWalk are visible from the Music Plaza area inside Universal Studios Florida.

Demolition Underway on Lift Hill
Demolition is underway on Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit’s iconic vertical lift, the last remaining part of the ride still towering over Universal Orlando’s skyline. The drop segment of the track has been dismantled, with only the lift section remaining as part of the vertical lift structure.

Final Traces of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit
Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit is largely gone. The only remnants that remain are the ride station’s elevator shaft, a decorative wall, the track segment next to the former station, and the vertical lift.
