Walt Disney World has unveiled a new Imagineering display inside Walt Disney Presents at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, offering guests a look at three major developments currently under construction across the resort. Located near the end of the gallery, the display highlights future additions to Hollywood Studios, Animal Kingdom, and Magic Kingdom.

Monsters, Inc. Land

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the former Muppets area, featuring Muppet*Vision 3D, permanently closed in June to be transformed into a Monsters, Inc.-themed land. The new area will immerse guests in the world of Monstropolis and feature a suspended roller coaster that recreates the iconic door vault scene from the film. This will be the first suspended roller coaster at a Disney park. The land will also include dining, retail, and a new theater show.

Tropical Americas

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, DinoLand U.S.A. is being transformed into Tropical Americas. The new land will feature the first-ever Encanto-themed ride, a new carousel, an Indiana Jones ride, and more. While much of DinoLand U.S.A. has already closed, the DINOSAUR ride will remain open through February 1, 2026, before being reimagined into the new Indiana Jones experience. The Tropical Americas area is projected for completion in 2027.

The Imagineering display offers an in-depth look at the Tropical Americas land, featuring a description, concept art, and a model showcasing the entire land.

Cars-Themed Area

Magic Kingdom is also expanding with a new Cars-themed area called Piston Peak National Park, which will be part of an expansion of Frontierland. The new area replaces the former Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island, both of which closed permanently in July. Drawing inspiration from the Rocky Mountains and American frontier landscapes, Piston Peak will include snowcapped mountains, roaring rivers, waterfalls, and geysers. It will feature a rally-race ride where guests will speed through trails and dodge obstacles, as well as a second Cars-themed ride designed for families.

The Piston Peak display includes a description, concept art, and maquettes of Lightning McQueen and Mater.
