Paramount Pictures has announced a change in the release schedule for the animated film Aang: The Last Airbender, based on the hit Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Initially set for an October 10, 2025 release, the film is now slated to release on January 20, 2026.
Paramount has not released information about the film’s plot, but it has been confirmed that the movie will follow the adventures of an adult Aang.
Directing the cinematic spin-off is Lauren Montgomery, known for her work as a storyboard artist on the final season of Avatar: The Last Airbender and her contributions to The Legend of Korra.
Eric Nam is voicing Aang for the upcoming movie and Dave Bautista is lending his voice to a villain crafted for the movie. Joining them are Dionne Quan, Jessica Batten, and Roman Zaragoza, though their roles within Aang’s new journey have yet to be unveiled.
Paramount plans to release two additional films based on Avatar: The Last Airbender.
