Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom will no longer offer a Single Rider queue beginning September 21, 2026.

Under the new ride-loading process, which was introduced earlier this year, Cast Members organize guests into odd- and even-numbered groups to help fill available seats throughout each ride vehicle. Previously, groups were assigned rows, with empty seats filled by guests waiting in the Single Rider line.

Disney says the change improved standby efficiency and lowered average wait times. Because the updated process fills available seats without relying on guests from the Single Rider queue, the queue became less effective and no longer provided the experience guests typically expect from a Single Rider line.

This change is limited to Expedition Everest and will not affect Single Rider offerings at other Walt Disney World attractions.
