Universal Orlando has officially revealed that Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will replace the former Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit roller coaster at Universal Studios Florida, with the new ride slated to open in 2027.
Universal Orlando says Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will put guests in the driver’s seat, offering the sensation of 360-degree drifting and high-speed maneuvers. One of the ride’s signature elements is a 170-foot vertical “spike”, sending guests nearly 17 stories into the air just above the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.

In addition to the new Fast & Furious roller coaster, Fast & Furious – Supercharged will permanently close in 2027.
The decision mirrors Universal Studios Hollywood’s approach, which permanently closed its Fast & Furious – Supercharged attraction in 2025 ahead of the debut of its own Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster later this year.
Universal Orlando will share additional details about the upcoming Fast & Furious roller coaster in the months ahead.
