The live-action adaptation of Disney Parks‘ beloved Space Mountain ride is being re-energized with the addition of writers Josh Appelbaum and André Nemec to the creative team. Appelbaum and Nemec are known for penning high-octane adventures such as Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Prime’s spy series Citadel, and Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Cowboy Bebop.
The Space Mountain film, which has been in development for several years, aims to transform the thrills of the iconic Disney roller coaster into a cinematic experience.
First launched into the hearts of thrill-seekers at Walt Disney World in 1975, Space Mountain has since become a cornerstone of Disney Parks’ allure. A second version of the roller coaster opened at Disneyland in California in 1977, followed by versions at other Disney theme parks worldwide.
