During our visit to Universal Orlando today, September 24, 2025, we gathered photos of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, and we observed that the next stage of demolition has commenced. Crews are now dismantling the central section of the ride, which had essentially remained untouched since it permanently closed on August 18, 2025. Demolition of the Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit ride station is ongoing. Additionally, we took photos of the construction for its replacement ride.
Non-Inverted Loop Being Dismantled
The central section of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was the last part of the track to remain intact until crews started dismantling the non-inverted loop on the morning of Tuesday, September 23, 2025.

The vertical lift hill and other track pieces in the central section of the ride are still standing for the time being.

As of the evening of September 24, 2025, here’s what the ride looks like in the Universal Orlando skyline.

Ride Station Demolition
Here’s the latest look at the ride station for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit. Demolition work began on it last week, and much of the back of the structure has been torn down, including the queue area, boarding zone, and maintenance bay. However, the control room and roof remain intact.

The exterior of the front side of the station, where guests entered the queue, hasn’t been impacted much at this time.

Current State of the West End Section
The west end section of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, situated in the New York area of Universal Studios Florida, has been entirely removed for several weeks. Documentation from Universal indicates that this area will accommodate two new buildings for the upcoming ride that will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, presumably for a maintenance bay and a ride station.
This is the view of the west end of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit from ground level. There isn’t much activity visible from this angle.

However, the aerial photo below, taken a few days ago by Bioreconstruct, offers a better vantage point and shows that all track pieces and support pillars from Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit are removed. It also shows site work for the new ride. The maintenance bay for the new ride is anticipated to be located backstage between soundstage 24 and the elevated track for the Hogwarts Express; in the photo below, this area would be near the top center. The new ride station is expected to be situated next to Race Through New York Starring Jimmy Fallon; in the photo, this would correspond to the vacant plot to the right of the bottom left show building. With the ride station likely located in this area, that means the entrance for this new attraction would be within New York, rather than next to the Music Plaza stage, as it was for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

Current State of the East End Section
The east end section of Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, located between the entrance to Universal Studios Florida and the Hard Rock Cafe in CityWalk, has also been completely cleared for some time. Recently, crews poured concrete foundations for the upcoming ride, and rebar is visible for the support footers of the new attraction. Plus, additional equipment arrived at the site. This section of the new ride will occupy a bit more space than Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit did, making use of previously vacant land.

Several sections of the track from Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit remain at the site.

A pile driver is still located at the site adjacent to the waterway in CityWalk, as noted in our prior photo update. It may be preparing a foundation, potentially for the new ride replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.

Additionally, at the site next to the waterway, concrete was recently poured.

Universal Orlando has not yet announced what will replace Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit.
