Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe, first announced in 2019, finally has an opening timetable. The theme park development was delayed in 2020 due to setbacks from the COVID-19 pandemic; however, construction picked up again in March 2021.

Comcast, Universal’s parent company, revealed during an earnings report that Universal’s Epic Universe is expected to open by summer 2025. Initially, prior to COVID-19 shutdowns, the new theme park was projected to open in 2023.

According to NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell, construction on Epic Universe is ”full steam ahead” and “is going really well.”

Universal Orlando’s Epic Universe will become the resort’s third theme park (excluding Volcano Bay, which is marketed as a water theme park) and will become the first theme park the resort has developed since Islands of Adventure in 1999.
