A proposed $61 million event center across from Camping World Stadium has taken another step toward construction after clearing a key approval.
On Tuesday, the Orlando Municipal Planning Board approved a permit that will allow the former Tabernacle of Praise Ministry building at 2019 W. Church St. and other structures to be demolished for the development.
The planned 140,000-square-foot event center is part of Orlando’s broader investment in the area. The project is being funded through the city’s $400 million Tourist Development Tax investment connected to the stadium’s renovation.
Plans call for the venue to feature a central field house for hosting sporting events, civic gatherings, and other large-scale activities. The facility will also include concessions, a mezzanine, and on-site parking for visitors.
Additional city approvals are still required before construction can begin. However, city officials have indicated that work could get underway by the end of 2026.
