Rockstar Games has announced that fans will get their next official look at Grand Theft Auto VI later this month, with an extended look premiering on Thursday, August 27.
Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look will debut exclusively on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET (12 p.m. PT). Six hours later, at 9 p.m. ET (6 p.m. PT), it will become available for free on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel and the Grand Theft Auto VI website, giving all players the opportunity to watch.
Rockstar has not revealed the exact length of the presentation or confirmed what it will include, the title suggests that viewers could receive a more detailed preview of the game’s gameplay, expansive world, and lead characters.
The partnership marks an unusual collaboration between Rockstar Games and Netflix. According to Forbes, Brandon Riegg, Vice President of Netflix Nonfiction Series, said:
“Grand Theft Auto reveals have become cultural moments in their own right. The anticipation and fandom around Grand Theft Auto VI is unprecedented, and we’re honored that Rockstar Games has partnered with us to debut the next part of the Grand Theft Auto story with Netflix members first. It’s a reflection of what we hope Netflix is becoming: a place where the most ambitious storytelling, from any medium, can find the biggest possible audience.”
The announcement follows the opening of Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders earlier this summer, with the standard edition priced at $79.99 and the ultimate edition costing $99.99.
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
