NBCUniversal has officially launched its streaming service—Peacock—a reference to the company’s iconic logo.

NBCUniversal is the latest major company to join the streaming service market, allowing the company to host a vast library of its shows and movies across its brands (such as USA, Syfy, Bravo, Universal Pictures) as well as original productions. Peacock already has original content available to viewers, including Brave New World, Intelligence, and Psych 2: Lassie Come Home. Plus, popular shows and films such as Psych, Two and a Half Men, The King of Queens, Parks and Recreation, Saturday Night Live, The Mummy, Abbott and Costello, and Jurassic Park are now available. Peacock plans to make the complete run of The Office available in 2021.

NBCUniversal’s Peacock, unlike competing streaming services, is available for free with advertisements. With a free account, customers will have access to thousands of hours of movies and shows; channels only on Peacock; daily news, sports and pop culture; kids shows and movies; and Telemundo Spanish-language series. Premium plans are also available for an additional cost.

Peacock Premium, which costs $4.99/month with a monthly plan or $49.99/year with an annual plan, provides everything a free account offers as well as live sports, exclusive Peacock original series, next-day access to current NBC hits, additional movies and shows, and full access to kids shows and movies.

Peacock Premium Plus, available for $9.99/month with a monthly plan or $99.99/year with an annual plan, includes all benefits from the Peacock Premium plan, plus the ability to watch offline on a mobile device (not yet available) and enjoy mostly ad-free content. According to Peacock, “due to streaming rights, a small amount of programming will still contain ads (Peacock channels, events and a few shows and movies).”

Xfinity customers, which have already had access to an early version of Peacock, can enjoy a Peacock Premium plan for no additional cost. Cox subscribers may also have free access to the Peacock Premium plan.

Peacock is currently available on iOS, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Chromecast, LG Smart TV, Vizio TV, and Xbox One. A PlayStation 4 app is planned during the week of July 20th.
