Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will not bring back its popular gingerbread house for the 2026 holiday season. More notably, Disney reportedly has no plans to revive the display in future years, marking the end of a seasonal centerpiece that has been part of the hotel’s holiday celebration since 1999.

The life-sized gingerbread house, which traditionally occupied a prominent spot inside the Grand Floridian’s lobby, became a holiday destination in its own right. Built fresh each year by Disney’s culinary team using edible ingredients, the display attracted large numbers of guests annually. It also functioned as a small retail kiosk offering baked goods for purchase.

The absence of the gingerbread house is not new. It was missing during the 2025 holiday season, with Disney citing lobby construction work at the time, making the 2024 holiday season its last appearance.

Despite this change, Disney is not abandoning gingerbread displays at the resort altogether. Instead, culinary teams will introduce a collection of smaller gingerbread displays. Disney has not yet revealed specific details about the new creations.

Additional information about the holiday displays planned for Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, as well as at other Walt Disney World hotels, will be shared later this year.
