Another reunion is officially on the way. More than 15 years after the original Grown Ups hit theaters and over a decade after its sequel, Grown Ups 3 has officially been confirmed to be in development at Netflix.
While few details about the upcoming film have been revealed, Netflix stated that Adam Sandler and his friends will reunite once again, opening the door for returning appearances from Chris Rock, David Spade, Kevin James, and Rob Schneider. An official cast announcement has not yet been made.
Netflix did confirm that Kyle Newacheck will direct the third installment, with Adam Sandler co-writing the screenplay alongside Tim Herlihy. The two previously worked together on Grown Ups 2, Happy Gilmore 2, Hubie Halloween, and more.
The first Grown Ups was released in 2010 and followed a group of childhood friends reuniting during a Fourth of July weekend, bringing their wives and kids along for the ride.
Its follow-up, Grown Ups 2, was released in 2013 and centered on the group reconnecting once again after Sandler’s character moved his family back to his hometown.
