Disney has officially revealed the new locations guests will fly over in the upcoming Soarin’ Across America, the new limited-time version of the popular EPCOT and Disney California Adventure attraction debuting as part of the nation’s 250th anniversary celebration.
The attraction will offer a sweeping aerial journey across the United States, highlighting both iconic landmarks and regional landscapes. Newly revealed scenes include the rugged New England coastline, New York Harbor, Grand Canyon West, the bayous, the autumn-colored heartland, the western plains, northern wilderness regions, and tropical island shores.
Tom Fitzgerald, creative director and chief storytelling executive for Walt Disney Imagineering, described the attraction as “a tapestry of urban wonders, natural beauty, and iconic locations that celebrate the spirit of the nation and the 250th anniversary of the United States.”
The updated attraction will also include a new musical arrangement by composer Bruce Broughton, reworking Soarin’ themes created by Jerry Goldsmith.
Guests waiting to board the attraction at EPCOT will also encounter the new Soarin’ Challenge Across America in the queue. Developed in collaboration with National Geographic, the trivia-based experience will feature facts and photography celebrating the diversity of the United States. Guests will discover which state is “Most Likely to Reach for the Stars,” “Most Likely to Lend an Ear,” and “Most Likely to Strike Gold.”
At EPCOT, the current version of the attraction, Soarin’ Around the World, concluded operations on April 13, ahead of the new version’s debut. Walt Disney World Annual Passholders will receive preview opportunities of Soarin’ Across America on May 19 and 20 before it officially debuts on May 26.
Meanwhile, at Disney California Adventure, Soarin’ Over California will continue operating through July 1 before transitioning to Soarin’ Across America on July 2.
Disney has not confirmed how long the new attraction overlay will remain in operation at either park.
