We visited Universal Orlando to check out the latest updates around the property. The Universal Legacy Store has returned to CityWalk, while work continues at Hogwarts Castle and repainting is still underway at Universal Studios Florida’s entrance plaza. Construction is also progressing on Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. This photo update covers all of this and more.

Universal Legacy Store Returns

The Universal Legacy Store has officially reopened at Universal Orlando’s CityWalk in its original location, taking over the Epic Universe Preview Center space. Here’s a look at the exterior.

There’s still a sign for the Epic Universe Preview Center on the side of the building.

The shop includes themed photo ops highlighting E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, Back to the Future, and the Universal Monsters collection. Unlike the original Universal Legacy Store, however, this iteration does not feature any props. Here’s a look inside.

Updates in CityWalk

Another merchandise kiosk has been removed in CityWalk across from Bigfire. This follows the recent removal of several other kiosks in the same area, with the Forever Pearls stand now gone. The clear-out is likely in preparation for Category 10, a new bar, restaurant, and live music venue from country artist Luke Combs. The venue is expected to take over this waterfront space, with construction set to begin this summer and an opening planned for late 2027.

However, Forever Pearls has been relocated across from Voodoo Doughnut, now taking over Voodoo Doughnut’s mobile order pickup kiosk, which was removed this week.

Hogwarts Castle Refurbishment

Scaffolding and scrims have been removed from much of the left side of Hogwarts Castle as refurbishment work continues on the facade. Crews have been refreshing the exterior to address fading, repainting it to restore its aged, weathered look that has diminished over time.

A neutral base coat is visible at sections where repainting is still underway. Crews are applying different paint hues onto the “stone” to build a natural, varied appearance. This is just the initial phase, as the look is not yet final—additional paint and weathering will be added to create a more cohesive and realistic finish.

Renovations in Jurassic Park

The rockwork in the splash zone of Jurassic Park River Adventure is being repainted as part of the ride’s refurbishment, scheduled to run through November 19, 2026.

Scaffolding and scrim have recently been installed at the ride’s exit gift shop, Jurassic Outfitters. The store remains open during the updates.

Painting Progress at Universal Studios Florida Entry Plaza

Painting at the Universal Studios Florida entry plaza appeared to slow down for several weeks, with only small sections being completed, though the right side of the administration building has now been painted. The overall project began in January 2026, replacing the salmon color scheme with a white finish accented by brown.

Some of the previous paint color is still visible at the backside of the building, though the project appears to be nearing completion.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift Construction

Since our last update on Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, additional track pieces have been installed in the New York area of Universal Studios Florida. Two track runs now lead into where the station is being built, with its framework rising behind the firehouse facade. Farther back, a separate structure will house the coaster’s service facility.

Universal Studios Florida Exit Restrooms Closed

More construction walls have gone up again, this time around the restrooms near the park exit at Universal Studios Florida.

That wraps up our coverage for today. We’ll be back soon with more updates.
