At the Las Vegas CinemaCon, the official title for the upcoming installment of the popular Conjuring franchise was revealed; the new horror film will be titled The Conjuring: Last Rites.
Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga will reprise their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren, respectively, in this chilling new film.
David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick will be writing this new entry in The Conjuring series. He was previously responsible for writing the screenplay for The Conjuring 2 and The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It.
The title for the upcoming movie, The Conjuring: Last Rites, seems to hint that this may be the final installment in The Conjuring franchise, but James Wan, creator the The Conjuring, has not confirmed if that’s the case.
The Conjuring is the highest-grossing horror franchise, generating over $2 billion worldwide when factoring in all movies part of the universe. The success of the first film, which was released in 2013, led to additional Conjuring installments, numerous spin-offs, and an upcoming Conjuring television series.
Plot details and a release date for the fourth movie have not yet been announced.
