Royal Caribbean International has officially announced its next mega ship, Hero of the Seas, the fourth vessel in its Icon Class lineup. Set to debut in August 2027 from Miami, the new ship will feature eight neighborhoods, a record number of onboard experiences, and new concepts.
“Icon Class truly set a new standard for family vacations, and Hero of the Seas takes that vision even further,” said Michael Bayley, president and CEO, Royal Caribbean. “With more water, more thrills and more choices for all ages, we’re continuing to build on what our guests love about Royal Caribbean and delivering the experiences families are looking for when vacationing together.”

New and Expanded Pool Areas
The ship will introduce nine pools, including new and expanded spaces across the ship:
- Coconut Cove, a new Caribbean-inspired pool area near The Lime and Coconut bar, featuring in-water loungers and Central Park views.
- An enhanced Hideaway adults-only area with two pools, the largest swim-up bar at sea, and an in-water DJ booth.
- Expanded Swim & Tonic pool and bar for adults.
- Upgraded Splashaway Bay aquapark for younger guests with new water features.

Onboard Attractions
Adventure offerings will expand with new attractions and returning favorites:
- Two new family raft slides, including the first funnel raft slide at sea, at Category 6 water park. Plus, new twists on the mat-racing Storm Chasers duo.
- Crown’s Edge, a skywalk and zip line hybrid suspended 154 feet above the ocean.
- FlowRider surf simulator, rock-climbing walls, mini-golf, and multi-sport courts.

Dining Venues
