Crews continue progressing toward upcoming attraction openings at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios. Scrim has been removed from the guitar structure for the reimagined Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, while construction walls around the future Walt Disney Studios courtyard have been partially taken down and reconfigured. We’re also taking a look at the latest updates on the upcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed land.

Scrim Removed at Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets

Scrim has come down from around the guitar in the courtyard for Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets, revealing a refreshed paint scheme. The updated design features a bold, groovy mix of blue, teal, red, purple, and orange, replacing the original solid red finish. Ride branding has not yet been added to the guitar. Work has also included repainting portions of the building’s exterior to a dark gray tone. Traces of the former color are still visible on a section behind the guitar.

Here’s concept art showing how the courtyard is expected to look once completed. It’s worth noting that the actual guitar paint scheme features less red than what’s shown in the rendering.

Since our last photo update, the courtyard entrance sign featuring the upside-down car has been repainted to a dark gray color as well. The car itself had already received its updated paint job earlier.

Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets opens on May 26, 2026.

Construction Walls Shifted at Walt Disney Studios Courtyard

Construction walls have been repositioned in the upcoming Walt Disney Studios courtyard, formerly Animation Courtyard, opening up more of the area around The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.

A new Silly Symphony mural has been painted on the soundstage for The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.

Additionally, more stripes have been added to the façade of The Magic of Disney Animation. In our last update, the stripes appeared on only the right section of the structure.

Mickey’s Sorcerer Hat was installed above the attraction’s entrance a couple of weeks ago. The exterior of The Magic of Disney Animation is designed to resemble the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in Burbank, California. A closer look reveals lighting on the hat.

The Walt Disney Studios courtyard is set to open on May 26, 2026, while The Magic of Disney Animation will follow later in the summer.

Monsters, Inc. Land Construction

Since our previous photo update, scrim has been added to portions of the exterior of the former Muppet*Vision 3D theater. Plastic covering has also appeared in many of the same areas where insulation was being installed during last week’s update.

A small portion of the former Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano and It’s a Wonderful Shop can be seen in the distance over the construction walls, largely stripped down to their steel framework.

New themed steel is now being installed along the terrace of the former PizzeRizzo restaurant.

Connected to the former PizzeRizzo restaurant is the restroom area, which is topped with a water tower feature.

Here’s a look at the concept art for the land.

That wraps up our coverage from Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
