Netflix has officially announced the renewal of its live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender for a second and third season, which will conclude the series’ story. This decision follows the show’s remarkable debut on February 22, quickly ascending to the top of the English TV List with a staggering 41.1 million views in the first 11 days and securing a place as the no. 1 show in 76 countries.

The live-action series, based on the beloved animated show from Nickelodeon which first enchanted audiences in 2005, offers a reimagined take on the epic tale of Aang, the last Airbender. Set in a fantastical world where nations are divided by their elemental abilities, the story revolves around Aang’s journey to fulfill his destiny of bringing peace to a world consumed by war caused by the formidable Fire Nation. As the Avatar, Aang is the only one capable of mastering all four elements—Air, Water, Earth, and Fire—to stop the Fire Nation.
