Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom park is receiving an all-new Tron coaster, adding an additional thrill ride for guests to experience. Disney announced plans for this new attraction, which will be positioned in a new area next to Space Mountain, last summer at the D23 Expo.

As Disney is working to construct the new ride, some attractions will be temporarily closing beginning as soon as the end of this year. The first attraction that will close includes the Walt Disney World Railroad. Disney says that it “will temporarily take up residence at the Main Street Station starting in December 2018,” so the trains will not be circling the park. During its downtime, guests can still view the vehicles and take advantage of unique photo opportunities at the train station in Main Street U.S.A. In addition to the railroad, the Tomorrowland Speedway will also temporarily close, but at a later date. The Tomorrowland Speedway will close for a portion of 2019 and reopen in the summer of the same year with a slightly adjusted track.

The Magic Kingdom’s Tron coaster will be like that of Shanghai Disneyland’s TRON Lightcycle Power Run. Guests will board a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles and depart for a race through the digital frontier. This new ride is scheduled to open by the resort’s 50th anniversary in 2021.
