Universal Orlando has unveiled all-new details about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, set to debut at Universal Epic Universe in 2025. This new themed area will immerse visitors in the captivating realms of wizarding Paris and the British Ministry of Magic, as depicted in Warner Bros. Pictures’ Fantastic Beasts films and the Harry Potter franchise.

An Enchanting Journey Begins

Visitors will embark on a magical adventure starting from a Muggle park in Paris. They will step through an ornate portal into the marvel that is 1920’s Place Cachée. This hidden, bustling shopping district in wizarding Paris boasts Haussmannian architecture, charming shops, sidewalk cafés, and the distinctive domes of historic Paris looming in the distance.

Exploring Place Cachée

The streets of Place Cachée are filled with the majestic grandeur and enchanting ambiance of the city. Wizards and Muggles can cast enchanting spells using interactive wands, wander through the magic-infused streets, as well as encounter fantastic beasts at a traveling circus. Additionally, for the first time within The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, guests will journey across countries and time, traveling from 1920’s Paris to 1990’s London; this adventure is made possible through the Métro-Floo, a magical transportation system that leads to the iconic British Ministry of Magic.

  • Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry: This all-new Harry Potter ride will combine expansive environments, gripping storytelling, and innovative ride technology. The journey begins as guests travel by Métro-Floo, a wizarding transport inspired by the Floo Network from the films, traveling from wizarding Paris to the British Ministry of Magic for Dolores Umbridge’s long-awaited trial. Guests will explore the Ministry’s grand atrium and various departments before taking omnidirectional lifts to view the trial. When Umbridge attempts to flee, guests join Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger, and a house-elf named Higgledy in a pursuit through the Ministry, dodging Death Eaters and rampaging creatures as they attempt to capture her.

  • Le Cirque Arcanus: This live, full-scale theatre experience in the heart of the Wizarding World will feature performers, aerialists, puppetry, and special effects, taking guests on a whirlwind journey with fantastic beasts. The show follows Ringmaster Skender, who steals Newt Scamander’s suitcase containing creatures like Demiguise, Diricawl, and Mooncalves, in an attempt to restore glory to the failing Le Cirque Arcanus, while circus employee Gwenlyn must rescue them before they are lost to Skender’s greed.

  • Cosme Acajor Baguettes Magique: Guests can shop from the world’s finest wands designed by esteemed artisan wandmaker, Cosme Acajor, in this premier Parisian wand shop, which offers a selection of exquisite wands, including popular imports from Ollivanders, packaged in three-sided boxes that contain a list of locations throughout the Wizarding World where visitors can practice casting spells.

  • Wand Magic: Guests can wield their interactive wands to cast spells at numerous locations, interact with fantastic beasts like Nifflers, Bowtruckles, and a Demiguise, and engage with enchanted objects in storefront windows and various areas across Place Cachée.
  • Entertainment: As guests explore the streets of Place Cachée, they will meet a variety of characters such as Hogwarts and Ilvermorny exchange students, an Auror from the Ministère des Affaires Magiques de la France in search of suspicious characters, and interactive talking portraits of wizards who engage about events and happenings.

  • Café L’Air De La Sirène: A charming café showcasing French architecture with carved marble and mosaic designs of fantastic beasts, offering French sandwiches, plats du jour, and desserts.

  • Le Gobelet Noir: A mysterious, timeworn auberge in the shadowy corners of Place Cachée, where Dark witches and wizards gather. The menu includes soups, salads, entrées, and desserts.
  • Bar Moonshine: An American-themed bar featuring exclusive beers, wines, and cocktails, decorated with U.S. Quidditch team pennants and other items of wizarding Americana.
  • Bièraubeurre Cart: Serving frosty, delicious Butterbeer.
  • Guests can shop for wizarding gear and memorabilia at Les Galeries Mirifiques, indulge in sweets at the French confectionary shop K. Rammelle, or find Ministry of Magic-inspired items at the Métro-Floo gift shop Tour En Floo.

Universal Epic Universe is set to open in 2025. The theme park will feature additional themed worlds including Celestial ParkHow to Train Your Dragon – Isle of BerkSuper Nintendo World, and Dark Universe.
