Unverified reports show that The NBCUniversal Experience — a behind-the-scenes exhibit featuring authentic props, wardrobe, and artifacts from Universal’s film history — will close later this year. The NBCUniversal Experience is located at the Lower Lot of Universal Studios Hollywood.
The exhibit features displays such as the original DeLorean from the Back to the Future films, costumes and props from Unbroken, Bring It On, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, and The Theory of Everything, stop-motion figures and set pieces from Coraline and ParaNorman, figures and set pieces from Box Trolls, costumes and props from Jurassic Park and Fast & Furious, original drawings for the mechanical shark from Jaws, and much more. The NBCUniversal Experience opened its doors to the general public in 2008.
It’s expected that the exhibit will close on September 1st or sometime in early September. It is currently unknown as to what will replace this experience though we expect the area to be used for future theme park development.
UPDATE: The NBCUniversal Experience is confirmed to close September 1st. All movie and television memorabilia will be placed into archives.
