The iconic Rockefeller Center Christmas tree will make its way to New York City next month, continuing a holiday tradition that draws visitors to Midtown Manhattan each year.

Rockefeller Center announced that this year’s tree is a Norway spruce from West Edmeston, New York. The tree, which was donated by Rebecca Decker, is 76 feet tall, 50 feet wide, and weighs an estimated 11 tons. It will be cut down on Thursday, November 5, and is set to arrive in Manhattan two days later, on Saturday, November 7.

Once it reaches Rockefeller Center, the towering spruce will be adorned with more than 50,000 energy-efficient, multi-color LED lights. A Swarovski star will sit atop the tree, completing the centerpiece of the annual holiday display.

The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony will take place on Wednesday, December 2, from 7 to 10 p.m., and the tree will remain on display through January 9, 2027.

Following the display, the spruce will be milled into lumber and donated to Habitat for Humanity, where the wood will be put to use supporting the organization’s housing efforts.
