About one month after the closure of the Rivers of America on July 7, 2025, at Magic Kingdom, the river is almost completely drained. The Rivers of America included the Liberty Square Riverboat and Tom Sawyer Island attractions. This significant reduction in water level marks an important milestone in the demolition of the Rivers of America to make way for a new Cars-themed area and a Disney Villains land.

Boardwalk Still Wall-Free

The boardwalk in Frontierland remains the only location along the Rivers of America that does not have construction walls obstructing the view of the river. It’s unclear when construction walls will be erected along the boardwalk.

Rivers of America Almost Empty

The water level of the Rivers of America has dropped considerably. As a result, the riverboat track is now exposed, and accumulated muck, lost items, trash, and other debris can be spotted on the riverbed. Moreover, the surrounding area is beginning to emit a fishy odor.
