The demolition of the Rivers of America at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World is currently experiencing setbacks due to a series of daily storms that have occurred over the past few days, resulting in water accumulating in the river and partially refilling it. These storms are anticipated to continue throughout the week.

In our previous photo update from September 2, 2025, the river was nearly completely drained, with only a few puddles remaining.

To recap, here’s how the Rivers of America appeared on September 2, 2025.

This is how the river looked today, September 10, due to the accumulation of rainwater.

Here’s a closer look at a pump used to remove water from the river.

Some sections of the scaffolding are partially submerged.

The riverboat track remains above the water level.

In our September 2 update, we noted that parts of a dropped iPhone were on the riverbed. Today, we also spotted an old mobile device that had fallen into the river beneath the boardwalk.

The Rivers of America, including Tom Sawyer Island, permanently closed at Magic Kingdom on July 7, 2025 to make way for a new area themed to Pixar‘s Cars and an all-new land dedicated to the Disney villains.
