Disney Vacation Club has announced details about its all-new member lounge under construction at Magic Kingdom, named McKim’s Mile House. This facility replaces the former Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, which closed in June 2024.
Drawing inspiration from the adventurous spirit of the bygone era of exploration, McKim’s Mile House is designed to provide a relaxing space for members. The lounge will feature seating, complimentary soft drinks, and a dedicated children’s entertainment area. Members will also benefit from Wi-Fi access and charging cords, which are available upon request.
The name “McKim” pays tribute to Disney Legend Sam McKim, a former film star who became a Disney Imagineer. McKim helped create inspirational sketches for the creation of Disneyland; contributed to Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln, Carousel of Progress, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Haunted Mansion; developed inspirational sketches for Disney-MGM Studios (now called Disney’s Hollywood Studios); and more. His imaginative artwork played a significant role in shaping many of Disney’s most iconic locations.
McKim’s Mile House is set to open its doors at Magic Kingdom by summer 2025.
