Disney announced new details about what’s coming to Monstropolis, the upcoming Monsters, Inc.-themed area at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios.
While construction continues on the land’s headline door-themed roller coaster, Disney confirmed that portions of Monstropolis are scheduled to open in 2027, giving guests the chance to explore the world of Mike and Sulley before the entire project is complete.
Welcome to Monstropolis

Guests will hear a new original song by Disney Legend Randy Newman when Monstropolis opens next year.
Titled “Welcome to Monstropolis,” the song was written specifically for the theme park and will accompany a new show of the same name at the Glob Theater.
The show, which replaces Muppet*Vision 3D, will welcome humans into the monster world and explore similarities between the two species. Mike and Sulley will serve as hosts. Sulley has been putting together a small, homespun show, but Mike, true to his showman personality, has some surprises planned.
Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza
Pizza-loving guests will have a new dining option inside Monstropolis with Archie’s Scare Pig Pizza, replacing PizzeRizzo.
The restaurant takes its name from Archie, the six-legged mascot of Fear Tech, who has become a popular figure among students at both Fear Tech and Monsters University.
The restaurant will also be connected to the Monsters University Alumni Club, giving guests another location to explore within the new land.
Monsters University Alumni Club
The Monsters University Alumni Club will honor the school’s legendary scarers from years past, exploring all the student clubs, fraternities, and sororities at Monsters University.
Scareporium
Guests looking to take a piece of Monstropolis home with them will be able to stop at the Scareporium.
The new shop will offer merchandise “designed to commemorate a visit to the monster-filled city.”
Harryhausen’s Restaurant

One of the most anticipated dining locations will be Harryhausen’s Restaurant, a location familiar to fans of Monsters, Inc. from Mike and Celia’s date.
The restaurant will offer a new menu featuring a variety of dishes, including sushi alongside other options. Guests will also be able to see Harryhausen brought to life as a new Audio-Animatronics figure inside the restaurant.
