A firework misfire during Fantasmic! at Walt Disney World’s Hollywood Studios startled guests on Thursday night after a pyrotechnic effect launched toward the audience.
A video shared on Reddit appears to show a firework launching in the wrong direction during the nighttime spectacular. The user who recorded and posted the footage said the incident occurred during the July 9, 2026, performance, with other Reddit users who said they were in attendance also confirming the incident.
In the video, embedded below, some guests can be heard reacting in shock as the firework launches toward the seating area. The individual who recorded the video was unable to determine what happened after the misfire. Other witnesses who commented on the Reddit post were also unsure what occurred after the incident.

Despite the pyrotechnic malfunction, guests who said they attended the performance reported that Fantasmic! continued as usual and was not stopped.
