Universal Studios Hollywood has announced that its new high-speed outdoor roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift, will open this summer, though an exact date has not been revealed.

The announcement coincides with the launch of a media campaign featuring a 30-second advertisement narrated by Vin Diesel, producer and star of the Fast & Furious franchise. The ride will be located on the Upper Lot of the park, housed within a red brick, garage-like structure. It will feature 360-degree rotation technology to simulate the sensation of drifting cars, reaching speeds of up to 72 MPH along 4,100 feet of aerial track. The course will pass over various areas of the park, including the multi-level Starway escalator that connectst he Upper and Lower Lots.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will open as Universal Pictures marks the 25th anniversary of the Fast & Furious franchise and prepares for the final theatrical release, Fast Forever, scheduled for March 17, 2028.

Universal Orlando is also developing a Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster featuring a layout unique to the destination. It was announced last month and is scheduled to open in 2027.
