Universal Orlando Resort has announced a series of new additions coming in 2024.
At the forefront of these announcements is the debut of CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular, a new nighttime show set to premiere on June 14, 2024. This cinematic journey will feature soundtracks from some of the most beloved films, including Harry Potter, Jurassic World, Jaws, Fantastic Beasts, Shrek, Ghostbusters, Trolls, Back to the Future, Universal Monsters, Transformers, How to Train Your Dragon, E.T., Fast and Furious, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Minions, The Mummy, and King Kong. CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular will showcase 228 fountains that soar up to 131 feet, along with 4K projection mapping, and an original composition consisting of newly arranged scores, tailored to match each scene. Additionally, more than 600 drones will collaborate to immerse guests in a striking exhibition of memorable cinematic instances. The show will occur on select nights on the Universal Studios Florida lagoon.
Alongside the nighttime spectacle, Universal Orlando will introduce the Universal Mega Movie Parade. This daytime parade will bring to life iconic movies, including E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, Ghostbusters, Jurassic World, Illumination’s Minions and Sing, and DreamWorks Animation’s Trolls and Kung Fu Panda. Universal Mega Movie Parade will be Universal Orlando’s largest daytime parade, combining 13 brand new floats, special effects, and nearly 100 performers—including dancers, skaters, stilt walkers, poi performers, and more. The parade will feature a 16-foot Stay Puft Marshmallow Man atop the Ghostbusters float, along with the colorful Caterbus and massive rainbows adorning the Trolls float. Guests will also experience a live marching drum line playing the famous movie score of Jaws next to a float dedicated to the movie, and — in a grand finale—a Gyrosphere, Raptors, and the Tyrannosaurus rex aboard the Jurassic World float—plus more. Universal Mega Movie Parade will launch on July 3, 2024, and be held on select days.
In addition to the parade and nighttime show, fans of the Wizarding World can enjoy Hogwarts Always, another nighttime extravaganza scheduled to debut on June 14, 2024. Hosted in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, this projection show will take guests on a magical journey through a year at Hogwarts, showcasing iconic moments against the spectacular backdrop of Hogwarts castle.
Furthermore, the expansion continues with the opening of the all-new DreamWorks Land on June 14, 2024. This brand-new section of the park will immerse visitors in the imaginative worlds of their favorite DreamWorks characters.
