A new attraction celebrating the art of Disney animation is set to open at Walt Disney World next week.
The Magic of Disney Animation is scheduled to open at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on September 14, 2026, completing the transformation of the former Animation Courtyard into The Walt Disney Studios. Disney announced the attraction’s opening date in July, while the remainder of the reimagined area opened in May 2026.
The new attraction is housed inside a building inspired by the Roy E. Disney Animation Building in California. The structure is topped with a recreation of Mickey’s iconic Sorcerer Hat.
Inside, guests will be able to explore a collection of experiences focused on different aspects of Disney animation, including Drawn to Wonderland, Off the Page!, Olaf Draws!, and the Once Upon A Studio Theater.
Drawn to Wonderland
Designed with younger guests in mind, Drawn to Wonderland is an immersive indoor playground inspired by Disney Legend Mary Blair’s original concept art for Alice in Wonderland. The experience allows children to play and explore while surrounded by Disney storytelling and Blair’s distinctive artistic style.
Off the Page!
At Off the Page!, guests can meet Disney Animation characters in environments inspired by different stages of the animation process. Characters appearing throughout the experience include Mulan, Rapunzel, Chip ‘n’ Dale, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Stitch.
Olaf Draws!
Olaf Draws! will feature an all-new Audio-Animatronic Olaf who guides guests through interactive drawing lessons. Each session focuses on a different Disney character, with instruction provided by Disney Animation artists.
Once Upon A Studio Theater
The attraction will also include the Once Upon A Studio Theater, where guests can watch the Emmy Award-winning animated short Once Upon A Studio with enhanced in-theater effects.
Guests will also be able to explore an art gallery featuring artwork from films created by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
