After about 5 years of construction, the long-awaited TRON Lightcycle / Run coaster will soon finally open at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. According to Disney, the all-new attraction will open at the park on April 4, 2023; it was initially scheduled to open in 2021 but was delayed due to the effects of COVID-19.
TRON Lightcycle / Run was announced for the Magic Kingdom in mid-2017. The park’s new TRON ride, which is similar to the existing TRON coaster at Shanghai Disneyland, will have guests join Team Blue in a quest across the Grid—the dark, computerized world from the TRON franchise. Guests will climb aboard their very own Lightcycle and race against the Grid’s most menacing Programs to secure victory.
