Universal Orlando will permanently close its long-lasting Poseidon’s Fury attraction, the last remaining attraction at Islands of Adventure’s The Lost Continent area.

The walk-through attraction opened with the park in 1999, giving guests the opportunity to explore the ruins of Poseidon’s ancient temple and experience a colossal battle between Poseidon and the evil Lord Darkenon.

This news comes after Poseidon’s Fury recently reopened following a brief maintenance earlier this year and a nearly 2-year closure that lasted from 2020 through 2022. With Poseidon’s Fury soon closing, The Lost Continent will be left with no attractions. The land once had a much larger footprint until it was reduced in size to make way for The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, which opened in 2010. In 2018, Universal closed the land’s headline show, The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad.

Poseidon’s Fury will have its final day of operation on May 9th before Universal Orlando permanently seals the temple. Universal Orlando commented that the attraction will close to make way for exciting new experiences but shared no specific details regarding its replacement.
