This touring plan is carefully crafted to optimize your time experiencing the haunted houses, scare zones, and entertainment at Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights. This plan can be used by travelers visiting the event for a single night or multiple nights.

Before visiting Universal Studios Hollywood’s Halloween Horror Nights, we recommend downloading the Universal Studios Hollywood app from the App Store or Google Play Store. The app provides wait times, showtimes, an event map, and more.
Entering the Event
We suggest arriving at the entrance to Universal Studios Hollywood, where the event is held, by at least 5 PM. You won’t gain entry to the event at this time, but being nearer to the park gates gives you an advantage over other guests. Keep in mind that it may take up to 40 minutes to reach the front gates from the parking booth if you’re driving. However, if you’re visiting Universal Studios Hollywood during regular park operating hours on the same day you’re attending Halloween Horror Nights, you can remain in the park past closing. Alternatively, if you purchased a ticket with early access, you can enter the park at the time your ticket allows. Both options provide early access to select haunted houses. It’s a good idea to download the official Universal Studios Hollywood app in advance to view attraction wait times, check showtimes, navigate the park, and much more.

We’ve compiled a list of all the haunted houses at the event, along with the Terror Tram. Follow this specific order to minimize your time in lines, but be prepared to make slight adjustments to experience the Terror Tram or catch any scheduled shows listed in the “Visit When Available” section below.
The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy

The Purge: Dangerous Waters
This attraction has scheduled showtimes. Plan accordingly and arrive early.
Summary: A politician seeks refuge on an island to evade The Purge, a destructive event where all acts of crime are sanctioned for a night. However, their sanctuary is soon discovered by The Purgers, triggering an electrifying EDM showdown as they battle for their lives.

Late Night with Chucky
Summary: Chucky brings his self-deprecating humor as he takes over Late Night. This interactive experience invites you to submit questions for Chucky via a QR code, but if he doesn't like it, you may face the same fate as his production team, who have been permanently dismissed from their roles.

Themed Areas to Explore
Halloween Horror Nights boasts numerous scare zones where monsters roam the streets; you’ll pass through these themed areas while traveling to each haunted house and show. Although the haunted houses are the main draw for guests, we recommend spending time in the scare zones as well to experience Halloween Horror Nights fully.
Skull Lordz
Summary: Bow before the royal court of the undead, where gothic monarchs preside. But be warned! Enter their spectral kingdom at your own risk. Those who defy their authority face a grim fate.

- If you’re visiting the event for just one night, we recommend having dinner before you arrive to maximize your time for enjoying the haunted houses and experiences.
- If you’re visiting Universal Studios Hollywood during regular park operating hours on the same day you’re attending Halloween Horror Nights, remain in the park past closing. Alternatively, if you purchased a ticket with early access, you can enter the park at the time your ticket allows. Both options provide early access to select haunted houses before guests at the front gates. Enter the available haunted houses first and then follow the order of this touring plan.
- To reduce your wait times, consider purchasing Halloween Horror Nights Universal Express to skip the regular lines at all haunted houses.
- If you’re using Halloween Horror Nights Universal Express, continue following this touring plan to efficiently navigate the park and make the most of your time.
- At select quick-service restaurants throughout the park, you can use the Universal Studios Hollywood app‘s mobile ordering service. This feature allows you to order your meal in advance, so when you arrive at the restaurant, you can quickly pick up your food and avoid long lines at the ordering counter.
- Don’t rush from one attraction to another. Take your time to explore the different scare zones at the event.
