Is the Walt Disney World Monorail a ride, and how can I board it?

The Walt Disney World Monorail System is not a ride in the sense of theme park rides. Rather, it is a complimentary transportation system used to transport guests to select areas of the Walt Disney World property. The Monorail system includes stops at the Transportation and Ticket Center (Magic Kingdom's parking area), Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and select Magic Kingdom-area hotels. All Monorail stations at theme parks are located outside park gates, so park admission is not required to board.
