Skull Island: Reign of Kong resurrects an iconic beast—King Kong—in a new format. The ride includes limited but interesting physical sets, realistic computer graphic imaging, an impressive colossal ape animatronic, and a solid storyline. Overall, Skull Island: Reign of Kong is a fun attraction with a fantastic queue and good ride experience; however, it relies quite heavily on screens and pales in comparison to Universal Orlando's original King Kong ride: Kongfrontation, which closed in 2002.
