The 2017 adaptation of It was just released in theaters this month, and the second chapter to the story is set to hit theaters on September 6, 2019, according to an announcement.

It has been a box office hit, earning about $236.3 million stateside as of last Friday, making it the highest-grossing September release of all time and the highest-grossing R-rated horror movie in the country.

It: Chapter 2 will put a major focus on the Losers’ Club as adults; however, it will feature flashbacks of the members as children. Additionally, the second film is expected to go more in-depth about Pennywise (aka It).
